Jasmine's Concert Review

Date: December 17, 2006

Location: House of Blues

Venue: Chicago, IL

Well, that was about the best concert I've ever been to! Especially since it was The Hush Sound's hometown they were playing in, so they felt more at home. This was my first concert seeing the Hush Sound and it wont be the last =]]

Apparently, there was a HUGE line outside; I didn't get the M&G, but if you buy food at the HOB restaurant, you get to wait in a small line inside that goes in first, which was awesome.

So first, This Providence came out playing 'Secret Love And The Fastest Way To Happiness'. In my opinion, they were great, and they definitely play well live. My friend and I were about 2 feet away from the middle of the stage and so many stupid girls were pushing, humping, doing about whatever they could to get closer to Dan. I guess their tour manager or one of their friends jump into the crowd in an elf's costume and yeah. T.P. was the only band who threw things in the crowd other than drumsticks which was pretty cool.

This Is Me Smiling was amazing, and they lead singer was great! & after they played, Murder By Death came out and played. You could really tell who the hxc fans were, mainly the mid 20s. A lot of people didn't know any of the words, and the crowd was kindof ..calmer. Sara was great though.

Lastly, The Hush Sound came out, but before they played that video montage thing with the clay dolls for Crawling Towards the Sun. Wellll nothing that great happened with Cliff Bars or anything, but lots of crowd surfing was going on. Oh and HOB security was evil. No camera's allowed, no taking pictures, nothing. Any little thing that you did that could get you in trouble, then they escorted you to the back or out of the concert which was pretty lame. THS sounded amazing though!

BTW-this was the last concert of their headlining tour and a sold out concert. After T.P. played, my friend and I went out to the restaurant to eat something and when we were going down the stage, right there in middle of the entrance: BOB! Yeah, I just stood there like an idiot with my mouth open and one finger pointing.. I didn't expect him to just be standing there w/ only 2 of his friends there and no fans crowding around him or anything.. i guess mainly b/c they were all upstairs. But yeah, that was pretty cool; i didn't talk to him, but he smiled and waved at me. Also, while MBD was playing, Chris came out and was by the bar talking to some people so i tapped him on the shoulder and said Hi, whats up?. Later, Adam, the merch guy, was coming and going by the bar and I also said Hi to him.

sadly, i had to leave early and left while people were chanting 'one more song' =[[[ =\\
