J.J.'s Concert Review

Date: July 25, 2006

Location: Boise, ID

Venue: The Big Easy

Alright! They were opening for The Dresden Dolls and Panic! The crowd was a lot better than the first time I saw them when they toured with Hawthorne Heights. The crowd was very courteous, clapping along with Greta and applauding after every song. I still felt like I was the only person who knew the words to every song though, besides a couple of my friends I was with who only knew a few words and some of the choruses.

I was wondering what would Greta sound like since the first time I saw her she didnt sound as good as she did on "So Sudden", but I think that's cuz they didnt have as good equipment and the sound guys didnt do a good job. She's probably the only female vocalist I actually like to listen to so I was a little worried. But she was awesome that night I was pretty happy and impressed.

They were the first band to play of course and they sang City Traffic Puzzle, Dark Congregation, Lion's Roar, Don't Wake Me Up, Weeping Willow, Crawling Towards the Sun, Momentum, Sweet Tangerine and Wine Red. Wow...I thought they only played 6 songs...lol. Guess I just wanted more. All the songs were awesome but the Lion's Roar was pretty cool especially when Greta and Chris started playing air trumpet and I blew out my voice after I screamed "EVERYBODY STOP!!!" lol! They had to leave early so they said they'd hang with us after The Dresden Dolls.

I bought a Hush Sound shirt for them to sign and I waited. After awhile I saw Greta and either Darren or Chris run over to the Panic! merch counter then run back to their merch counter. So I followed and decided to actually make convo (I was too tired from moshing the 1st time I saw 'em and i juz lazily bought their cd...easily one of the best impulse buys ive had...and got em to sign it and that was it). Talked to Bob who was standing next to Darren and they both signed my shirt. Darren didn't say much but I asked 'em when they were coming back and Bob said around the fall with Jack's Mannequin and Cold Bling?? I still dunno..I thought he said Coldplay so I was surprised and said "COLDPLAY?!?" and he just laughed and jokingly saying how the band would start making triple platinum records to open for Coldplay. Then I asked him about Dahkishimbadah and he told me the story about it. Also found out the first chord to play for "The Artist". Pretty interesting. I then went to Chris and Greta so they could sign my shirt. I talked with Greta and said I was hoping she would sing Magnolia. She said that she will the next time they come back. I told her that I came to the concert to see them(I don't really like Panic! and i've never heard of the Dresden Dolls). But she said they were cool and described how entertaining Panic! was. Talked to her about myspace and, like a fool, tried to add her and the gang. She explained how large her friend requests were and that she would look for me...I have yet to be a myspace friend of Greta...lol! Panic! started and they disappeared like ninjas...It's cool...Rock On!
