Sera's Concert Review

Date: June 13th, 2006

Venue: The Joint

Location: Las Vegas, NV

I checked into the Hard Rock Hotel on the 12th, around lunch. That night, I was walking around the hotel looking for a quite place to make a phone call when I ran into Chris and Bob =O And even though they were trying to enjoy their day off in Vegas, they were nice enough to stay and talk for a while and get pics and stuff. Oh God, we talked about sooo many random things. But the highlight was when we were taking the pic and Chris was like "Hey, whats your name? I'm Chris. Nice to meet you!" and Bob was like "Hi! I'm Dr Dre!" and they ran with the rapper thing for a while. We were talking about the new album and I was just saying how incredible it was and Bob was about to super duper high five me when Brendon Urie and his bodyguard walked in. The bodyguard pointed at me and was like "WHO IS SHE?" and because I was responding to him, I missed Bob's super duper high five. They were walking away when Bob was like "Do you know who that was? Dude, that was Snoop Dog!" so we yelled out some shit behind them. I was like "YO WHADDAP DAWG?!" haha um we talked some more but then their guitar tech was like "hey you guys ready to go?" so they were like "see you tomorrow!" and headed the other way. awww. They were seriously so nice, and funny, and adorable...and funny! I did see them again later that night. I had just met Brendon Urie, and he was walking to the bar. And Bob and Chris joined him there.

The next day, we were in line at around 11 but we walked around the hotel the whole day cause it was hot out and they wouldn't let us sit on the side walk. Bob and Chris (and Darren too, I think) were in the casino for a while. Uhm, right after I got kicked out of the casino (while I was trying to confirm that those people were really band members) I saw Darren sitting outside the main hotel doors but I didnt talk to him cause a. I was in tears and b.he was on the phone. And Greta walked passed the line trying to get into the venue (she had lost her pass) and she was nice enough to stop and get pics with everyone. She was eating an apple so I guess this was around lunch. No idea cause we didnt eat anything that day.

The show was incredible. I knew they'd be good, but I didn't expect them to rock out like they did. They played: Sweet Tangerine, Lions Roar, Dont Wake Me Up, Wine Red, Crawling Towards the Sun, Momentum...Ahh it's been too long, I can't remember exactly but that should be it. And Bob talked to the crowd about how much he won gambling while I yelled out how much he had lost lol. The crowd was ehhh. The show being in Vegas, everyone was there for Panic! so I was the only person singing along to them. But they were polite. No talking, applauding after each song...I did get a few weird looks from the people around me since I was the only person really into the music. And the security guards kept glaring at me cause I took so many pictures (and when I turn the flash off so it wouldnt bother them, I get a freakin warning for videotaping the show. They were like, you cant take pictures without flash, we know you're video taping the show. Uhh...yea...)

Well, after the show, half of the crowd left while the other half headed towards the merch table. The OkGo guys and the Hush Sound came out to meet fans. I got to hang with the Hushies again. I got them to sign stuff, and got pics again.

The Hush Sound were as nice and sweet and funny as ever. Chris was so adorable. Haha it took him too long to remember me from the night before. He was like "aw sorry, last night I was a little...you know..." or something like that. We talked gear for a while, and when I complemented him on his mad skillz, he was soo humble and shy about it, and the way he said "thank you so much! that's a sweet compliment, it means a lot..." made me all awwww cause he was so sincere in the way he said it. So yea, we were talking about basses for a while and I was trying to convince him to get a fretless when this really cool girl who was beside me during the concert came and was like "She was the only person singing along to your songs!" aw I wanted to hug her. I hung out by Bob for a while cause it was too crowded and we talked about gambling and stuff and when I girl asked for a hug I was all “Well, I didn’t get a hug!” so he hugged me and he was all laughing and saying “I’m giving away free hugs!” soo I was there for a bit taking pics for people, handing out sharpies cause the merch line was waaay long and Bob was all "you better get in line cause only 5 of those bags were made to see what would people like" but I just couldn't. Thennn I went over to Greta and got a pic and stuff. Talked about Nessa Carlton. She's was so niiiiice, she liked me naaame, and she noticed my CD booklet was missing and asked where that was and asked a few more questions. It's nice to see that she doesnt just sign stuff and smile for pics, she wants to get to know her fans. Darren was next in line. Aww he's so adorable. I told him I was there just to see them, and even sat through Panic!s set so I could meet them afterwards and he laughed and thanked me. Then, I went back by the merch but the line was still too long and I couldnt get the bag I wanted so I had the Hushies sign my ticket too so I got to talk to all of them again, except just then they decided to leave so I had Bob hand my ticket to Greta to sign. Right then we noticed his big ass laminate thingy and asked why it was so big and he was like "cause Panic thinks it's funny" and we were all like =| and he was about to hop on stage to leave when I was all hold on I have to get a pic!...

After the show, we’re waiting by the buses when the security guy tells us that Panic!s not coming out, and we should leave. Well, we just move down the sidewalk and continue waiting. Half an hour later, guess who walks by looking for her van? Gretaaaaa. So I got to meet her for the third time that day, and this time I not only got a pic but I also got to talk to her for like, 15 minutes. She just stood there and talked to us. It was awesome. She was soooooooooo nice. I ask too many question and we talked about everything from her graduating and prom to touring with guys to Pete sending them an email with really bad grammar when they first got signed to self serve ice cream to a fan made bag she uses to belly dancing...Before she left, she had us put our hands in the middle but we couldnt find anything to yell out so we just said the first thing that came to her mind; Pink Taco, a restaurant in the hotel.

Leaving Vegas, I was truly happy. Not only did I get to see the Hush Sound live, but I got to spend some time with them. Plus, when I met Brendon Urie and Jon Walker, I told Jon I wasn’t supposed to like him and the bodyguard who hates me responded by saying “well, that’s what I’m here for”) aaaand the whole Ryan incident was highly amusing. (Out by the buses, he was walking somewhere and walked across the street to avoid us, so I yelled out “RYAN HAVE MAH BABIEZZ!11!!!1” haha yea he heard but it was all cool cause when he walked back we were a smaller group, like 4 girls, and he stopped for pictures.)

Sorry for the long-ass review. But don’t worry, it’s time for the pictures now =)
